Job Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and litigation matters to internal and external clients.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, pleadings, settlement agreements, policies, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare memoranda, and analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and industry guidance.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, administrative hearings, and court proceedings where permitted.
  • Identify legal risks, develop compliance strategies, and support internal investigations and regulatory responses.
  • Collaborate with business, HR, finance, and product teams to align legal strategy with commercial objectives.
  • Support business development, client relationship management, and, where relevant, firm marketing and thought leadership.

Minimum Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school or foreign equivalent where applicable.
  • Active license to practice law and good standing with at least one U.S. state bar (or eligibility to register as in-house counsel).
  • 0–3 years of experience for entry-level or junior associate roles; 3–8+ years for mid-level and senior lawyer positions.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, including familiarity with case law databases and citation standards.
  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in at least one practice area such as corporate, litigation, employment, real estate, IP, or regulatory.
  • Excellent communication, client-service orientation, and ability to explain complex legal issues in practical business terms.
  • Authorization to work in the relevant jurisdiction and willingness to comply with applicable conflicts, ethics, and confidentiality rules.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in high-demand practice areas such as mergers and acquisitions, complex commercial litigation, data privacy, fintech, or healthcare regulatory.
  • Background working in Am Law firms, reputable boutiques, leading in-house legal departments, or government enforcement agencies.
  • Comfort with legal technology tools, e-discovery platforms, contract lifecycle management systems, and document automation.
  • Proven track record managing multiple matters, meeting tight deadlines, and operating in fast-paced or high-growth environments.
