Job Responsibilities

Provide legal advice and strategic counseling to clients in practice areas such as litigation, corporate, real estate, employment, family, or criminal law.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, leases, and other legal documents under Pennsylvania and federal law.
Represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials in Allegheny County and surrounding county courts, as well as federal courts in the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Conduct legal research on statutes, case law, regulations, and municipal codes relevant to Pittsburgh-based individuals, businesses, and institutions.
Manage case files, maintain accurate documentation, and track deadlines for discovery, filings, and court appearances.
Develop and maintain client relationships, including intake, communication of case strategy, fee arrangements, and ongoing status updates.
Collaborate with colleagues, local counsel, expert witnesses, and support staff to prepare cases and deliver efficient, high-quality legal services.

Minimum Requirements

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active license to practice law and good standing with the Pennsylvania Bar; admission to the Western District of Pennsylvania is preferred for litigation roles.
1–3 years of legal experience for entry-level associate or staff attorney roles; 4+ years for mid-level and senior positions.
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, including experience drafting motions, briefs, and transactional documents.
Demonstrated familiarity with Pennsylvania civil procedure, criminal procedure, or relevant substantive practice areas.
Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, prioritize deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Professional communication skills and commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.

Preferred Skills

Experience with specific Pittsburgh-focused practice areas such as energy, healthcare, higher education, construction, or manufacturing.
Background handling complex commercial litigation, M&A transactions, real estate development projects, or union and employment matters.
