Job Responsibilities
- Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, risks, and strategic options across relevant practice areas.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, pleadings, corporate documents, policies, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research and analysis of statutes, regulations, case law, and regulatory guidance to support positions and recommendations.
- Represent clients in litigation, arbitration, mediation, administrative hearings, or regulatory proceedings as applicable.
- Collaborate with business, compliance, HR, finance, and technical stakeholders to align legal advice with operational and commercial goals.
- Manage case or matter timelines, discovery, and documentation, ensuring deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate records, billing entries, and matter reports while adhering to professional responsibility and ethical standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law and membership in good standing with at least one state or national bar.
- 1–3+ years of relevant legal experience for associate roles; more extensive experience for senior, counsel, or partner-track positions.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, including familiarity with primary and secondary legal sources.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize deadlines, and work both independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-service skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in clear terms.
- High ethical standards and knowledge of professional responsibility rules, confidentiality, and conflicts of interest.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a defined practice area such as corporate/M&A, litigation, regulatory, employment, IP, real estate, tax, or criminal law.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations in sectors like financial services, technology/SaaS, healthcare, life sciences, or fintech.
- Comfort with legal technology tools, e-discovery platforms, matter management systems, and contract lifecycle management software.
- Proven track record managing complex, cross-border, or multi-jurisdictional matters and coordinating with external counsel where needed.
- Business acumen and the ability to align legal advice with commercial strategy, risk tolerance, and operational realities.
