Job Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on statutes, case law, regulations, and procedural rules to support litigation and advisory matters.
- Draft and revise pleadings, motions, contracts, memoranda, and legal opinions under supervision of senior attorneys.
- Assist with case preparation, including discovery, document review, evidence organization, and trial or hearing binders.
- Attend client meetings, negotiations, depositions, and court hearings to observe and, where appropriate, present under supervision.
- Support due diligence, corporate filings, and transactional documentation in mergers, financings, and commercial agreements.
- Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to manage case files, deadlines, and matter status updates in case management systems.
- Monitor regulatory developments, prepare compliance summaries, and help implement internal policies and procedures for clients or the employer.
Minimum Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar, or eligibility and intent to sit for the bar exam in the relevant jurisdiction within a defined timeframe.
- Strong academic record or demonstrated coursework in key practice areas such as civil procedure, contracts, corporate law, or evidence.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills, including familiarity with major legal research platforms and citation standards.
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, meet deadlines, and follow instructions with high attention to detail.
- Professional communication skills for interacting with partners, in-house stakeholders, clients, and court personnel.
- Willingness to work from the local office, court, or client sites as required, with openness to occasional overtime or weekend work.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience through internships, clinics, judicial clerkships, or law firm summer associate programs in litigation, corporate, or regulatory practices.
- Familiarity with e-discovery tools, document management platforms, and basic project management methodologies for legal work.
- Comfort working with technology-enabled workflows, including AI-assisted legal research, contract review tools, and case management software.
- Strong interpersonal skills, client-service orientation, and the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams with business and operations staff.
