Job Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on Philippine corporate, commercial, labor, tax, and regulatory matters to internal and external clients.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, pleadings, legal opinions, memoranda, and other legal documentation.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and before administrative agencies and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct legal research on statutes, case law, rules, and regulations, and prepare clear written analyses and recommendations.
- Assist with corporate housekeeping, including incorporations, SEC and BSP filings, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Support due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, financings, real estate transactions, and other complex deals.
- Collaborate with business, finance, HR, and operations teams to manage legal risks and implement compliant processes and policies.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited Philippine law school.
- Admitted to the Philippine Bar and in good standing with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), unless role clearly specifies non-bar or pending-bar status.
- 0–2 years of post-bar experience for entry-level associate positions; 3–7+ years for mid-level and senior roles.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine civil law, commercial law, remedial law, labor law, and relevant special laws.
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and written and oral communication skills in English; proficiency in Filipino or other local languages is an advantage.
- High ethical standards, professional integrity, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Willingness to work on-site, hybrid, or remote as required, and to handle occasional overtime or extended hours for transactions or litigation deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a specific practice area such as corporate and M&A, litigation and dispute resolution, tax and customs, banking and finance, or labor and employment.
- Background working with multinational corporations, BPO and shared services centers, fintech or SaaS companies, or heavily regulated industries such as banking, insurance, and utilities.
- Familiarity with international contracts, cross-border transactions, and coordination with foreign counsel.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms, document management systems, and productivity tools commonly used in Philippine law practice.
- Strong client management skills, business acumen, and the ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice.
